Smile satb/ttbb

Hi, i saw your question about satb/ttbb, well i'm happy that someone like to know about acapella. 'satb' stand for choir arrangement, 's'=soprano, sing in high voices like ladies/girls use to sing that part, 'a'=alto, sing in low voices then the soprano also sing by ladies/girl. 't'=tenor, normally sing by man in high voice and in choir arrangement too, while 'b'=bass, of cause sing by man whom voice is low like the bass speaker. well, as ttbb arrangement is mainly for man sing in acapella 1st 't'=1st tenor or higher voice almost like the ladies in soprano but slightly different arrangement, 2nd 't'=2nd tenor is same level in choir arrangement, 1st 'b'=bariton is slightly a bass voice but more lighter then bass or can go low till piano the 1st octav down from middle C. lasat 'b'=bass some man can sing or reach as low as the grand piano and its 3 octav down from middle C. thats all can tell you as what you want to know, see you in next mail in my email, dessnoa@hotmail.com

I'd recommend getting the society's big barbershop arranging manual.

The first thing is to have a good grasp of music theory - enough that you can take some existing arrangements and quickly identify the chords used and the voicings.

You probably already know that in barbershop we love the V7 chord and rotating around the circle of 5ths. 'Five foot 2, eyes of blue' is a great song to start analyzing as there are no interim chords - it just starts with the tonic triad, then jumps out to the III7 (or V7 of V of V of V), then to the VI7 (or V7 of V of V), then II7 (or V7 of V), then V7 then back to the I chord.
